Fifty years ago my father founded this company. Now we stand at the threshold of planning for the fifty years ahead. What began as Executive Books became Tremendous Life Books and now transitions to
Tremendous Leadership. But have no fear; the name is new, but the mission of changing the world one book at a time is still the same. We changed from Executive Books to Tremendous Life Books because our books weren’t just for executives; they were for anyone who desires a tremendous life! And now we are changing from Tremendous Life Books to Tremendous Leadership because much of what we now create is delivered by means other than the written word.
Every leader strives to do the most good for the most people; they constantly change and, as a result, they change the world. Our new name symbolizes our continued focus on all things tremendous: tremendous books, tremendous people, tremendous content, and most importantly, leading and living a tremendous life! Although my father was best recognized as a motivator and humorist of unparalleled proportions, his main focus was getting others to recognize and manifest the leader inside themselves. This is also my passion, hence, the starting focus for our next fifty years. I am especially excited to be working toward a doctorate in leadership, so I promise an endless supply of new ways to add some kick to your leadership calisthenics.
Growing up, I remember my father’s office in the home of our basement in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. He had cases of books in our garage which he’d pack up, along with us helpers, and drive all over the country as he grew his business and shared the tremendous truths he’d found in books. In 2015, we are once again in a small office and it makes me smile. Things have a way of coming full circle, don’t they? We’ve moved to a completely online presence, which was the vast majority of our business, so we can focus solely on creative content and getting ourselves out and among the people. Leadership is shaped by the needs of the hour and this particular hour of our business certainly calculates a different course.
We will still be the supplier of all the motivational media and material that you’ve come to love. We are also pushing forward with rolling out more of the content of Charlie “Tremendous” Jones to introduce the next generation to his wisdom and humor as well as encourage those whose lives he changed. And we are putting together leadership programs that will inspire you to raise the bar on your life. I was thrilled beyond words to have picked up the mantle of leadership from my father. I am thankful beyond words for the incredible support, encouragement, and sales that have enabled us to flourish in a volatile industry during some very uncertain economic times. But now I know it’s time for us to fully realize what our mark will be on the world.
When I hear people ask where all the great leaders are, I tell them to look in the mirror. And now it’s time for us to take a long gaze at ourselves, where we desire to go, and what we need to do in order to make the world a more tremendous place. I hope you will continue with us on this journey. Our new address on the web is www.TremendousLeadership.com, but all our old links will still get you to the same place.
People ask me what they can do to help us out. Any chance you get to share our social media; let others know about our site; let us help you implement a Read to Succeed program for you, your clients, or your team; and check out
www.TremendousTracey.com if you need a keynote speaker; would all be a tremendous help! When our founder went home and left us with some gigantic shoes to fill, we relied on you to see us through and you did not let us down. There’s no way we can get to the next level without you, nor would we want to. Sometimes it takes a really good fall to know where you stand. We look forward to standing with you in our next season.
