On this 4th of July, we don’t just celebrate fireworks and freedom—we honor the sacred sacrifice that forged this great nation and still fuels its greatness today.
Our Founders didn’t lead from pride or position. They led from conviction, humility, and a holy defiance of tyranny. They understood that to gain true freedom, you must first surrender every illusion of control, comfort, or applause.
As Daniel Boorstin wrote in Democracy and Its Discontents,
“The old Puritans could never be disillusioned because they never suffered from illusions.”
That’s the spirit that built America—clear-eyed, God-fearing, and grounded in eternal truth. We need that same clarity now more than ever.
Let us see this great nation as it is—not perfect, but profoundly united in purpose—a nation capable of confronting its past, reckoning with its flaws, and pushing forward with hope. Let us not be disillusioned by those who benefit from division—whether political activists, media outlets, or entertainment empires. Their goal is chaos; ours is covenant.
💥 To lead well is to die to self.
💥 To live free is to walk in truth.
💥 And to honor our Founders is to follow their example—not just with words, but with courage and character.
As John Adams once warned, “Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom.”
Adams wasn’t speaking as a figure of the past—he was addressing you and me from the trenches of history. When he said “the present generation,” he meant his own, suffering and sacrificing in real time. It’s a personal plea across the centuries: “Don’t forget what it cost. And don’t squander what we secured.”
And as George Washington reminded us,
“The preservation of the sacred fire of liberty…is finally staked on the experiment entrusted to the hands of the American people.”
We are the experiment. We are the stewards.
We are the ones who must lead like it matters—because it does.
So this 4th of July, as the fireworks crackle and the anthem rings, remember: Liberty lives when leaders let go. Let us shed illusions. Let us rise in sacrifice. And let us lead in a way that honors both heaven and heritage.
Happy Independence Day. And may God continue to bless the United States of America.
With deep gratitude and fierce joy,
Tracey C. Jones
